I delayed my trip going into Haiti during the month of September because of the high level of instability and blocked roads.

Several days before my departure date in October, I had encouraged a friend with this passage from Psalm 121:1-2: “I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” This verse also encouraged me—as I had God’s favor with arriving at the mission safely.

Managing food deliveries and inventory is an ongoing process of logistics at our Haiti warehouse.

Monthly, our schools in Haiti consume 815 sacks of rice and 290 sacks of beans.

I enjoyed visiting one of our churches upon arrival. The church had made the sacrifice and had purchased gasoline on the black market for their generator. The Haitian churches never stop meeting. I began doing all I could do to have every aspect of the mission function properly. There was no fuel available—which made it impossible to receive deliveries.

Each school has two cooks employed to prepare lunch and serve our students a healthy meal.

Slowly, we were able to start buying some supplies such as diesel fuel, cement, and then food for our schools. It was wonderful to see all the schools receive food deliveries and continue to be operational—even though it was basically a country on lockdown. I boast in the Lord! God gets all of the glory for the things we are doing in Haiti. I believe my life is in His hands. I always say it is a privilege and pleasure to be serving the Lord in Haiti. ~Charlie DeTellis
