Stepping onto the New Missions church and school campus in Playa Chiquita, Dominican Republic, reminded me of the importance of vision.

My mother and father began their efforts to expand New Missions into the Dominican Republic 25 years ago. Recently, I traveled to visit our campuses there and met with faculty and staff about the progress being made in our DR ministry.

Special events such as graduations are hosted at our church in Playa Chiquita, Dominican Republic.

The roof at our church in Playa Chiquita is ready for an expansion to accommodate more people.

My father set out to start New Missions in the Dominican Republic at the age of 67—having already received a cancer diagnosis. The vision was greater than his illness. I knew my dad would work harder and harder until the very end. I’m humbled and honored to have witnessed what God has done over the years. The Lord is certainly faithful.

We have a special project to expand the size of the church facility in Playa Chiquita. The infrastructure is there. However, we need to make the roof covering larger to help accommodate larger crowds for graduations, workshops, chapel services, and church events. Prayerfully consider making a one-time gift at newmissions.org/projects to help us complete this project on the campus of Playa Chiquita. Together, we are helping families flourish by preaching the Gospel and making disciples through our churches and schools across five campuses in the Dominican Republic. ~Tim DeTellis
