Challenge Accepted
// Heather Williams Katz
All summer long, our school directors work tirelessly to plan for the next school year.
This year brings more challenges as we adjust our methods of teaching to accommodate the new government requirements because of the coronavirus. Although this creates more tasks for our directors, they are happy to be able to work for the mission and teach our students.
Daniel Farington, our school director in Los Castillos, has worked with New Missions in the DR for 20 years. Even though he is 70 years old, he says he would much rather be interacting with the children and teachers at school than sitting home. He loves the school and church, and his passion for the mission can be seen by all who meet him. Under his direction, the teachers prepared weekly homework assignments to send home for the children during the quarantine—because most of the children do not have internet access. This summer, Daniel and our school staff are working diligently to be prepared for the upcoming challenges of the new school year. Please pray for the health and safety of all of our staff and students as the school year begins. ~Heather Williams Katz
