Pastor Sheguer Marc, who works with our high school prayer group, Warriors of Peace, held another event to close out the school year.

They sensed the Holy Spirit’s presence as they worshiped together and were challenged by a message from Acts 17:30. Approximately 300 students attended. However, this year there was an exciting new element to the celebration. Two young people were engaged to be married during the service!

Students worshipping at the event. Vital spiritual and moral formation takes place in our schools, and worship is a huge part.

Walson Joseph, a 20-year-old twelfth grader, asked Tania Sylvain to marry him. They grew up together and attend the same church. Their parents and pastor were all in attendance. Walson started in our New Missions schools in PK1 at the Leogane-Leroy campus and has continued on through high school. He frequently leads worship for chapel and is a member of the prayer group. Both he and fiancé Tania were part of the worship team at the event. They enjoy serving God together. After graduation, Walson plans to continue his education to become a teacher. We are thankful to see a commitment to Christian marriage amongst our high school students and in our churches. ~Rachel DeTellis
