Haitians Helping Haitians
// Tim DeTellis
When visiting churches in the U.S., we meet Haitians who remember their homeland and pray for God’s continued help and healing
They are eager to help by sponsoring a child, and as a Haitian they know the efforts of our mission are vital.
Recently, I was speaking at All Nations Church in Tavares, Florida. The pastor, Alix Hilaire, is a former student of New Missions. They gave a financial gift to New Missions, and I immediately knew the greatest impact for them would be to sponsor a student from the very school Pastor Alix attended at New Missions. Today, first grade student Lucas Maley Lines who attends our Neply, Bord-Mer school is sponsored by Pastor Alix and his church in Florida.
I asked Pastor Alix what people need to understand about Haiti today. He shared with me the importance of not giving up. Haiti is hard. The problems are spiritual. The same is true in America and every nation. We all need to find hope in God.
Prayerfully consider sponsoring a student by visiting newmissions.org/sponsor and together, we can help raise a new generation of Christian leaders. ~Tim DeTellis
