Ten years ago, Heather Williams agreed to spend one year at New Missions in the Dominican Republic to serve as our field director.

Fast forward 10 years, and she is married to Arismendy Katz. They have two children, Max and Eli. We give thanks for their service to the families across the North Coast of Sosua. We now have churches and five school campuses in Mulata, Playa Chiquita, Bombita, Playa Laguna, and Los Castillos.

We give thanks to Heather and Arismendy for faithfully serving the families of the Dominican Republic.

Osiris Perez and Arismendy Katz gave an invitation for salvation at the end of the church service in Los Castillos.

At 8:00 a.m. on a Friday morning, I met our school directors at a cafe in Sosua for breakfast. We enjoyed a meeting to discuss current issues facing the country of the Dominican Republic. I asked them what are the three largest problems in Sosua. They told me the three most significant problems facing Sosua are: prostitution, local church leadership, and youth lifestyle issues. We had an open question and answer time, and each of these needs presents a real confirmation of the importance for our mission to share the Gospel across this region.

The Leaders for Christ mentoring group led the chapel service at New Life School in Mulata.

Strategically, our Leaders for Christ mentoring program invites high school students to grow closer to God through discipleship and leadership development. We also provide these young leaders with practical opportunities to serve. Please remember to pray for the leadership at New Missions in the Dominican Republic, as together they help build a stronger Christian community. ~Tim DeTellis
