25 Years Changing Lives
// Heather Williams Katz
This month, New Missions joyfully celebrates 25 years of ministry in the Dominican Republic!
We are profoundly grateful to be part of the incredible work God is doing along the North Coast. When George and Jeanne DeTellis started working in the DR, they hired Daniel Farington as the director of our first school in Redemption Village, a very poor community. By God’s grace, Daniel remains with us today, witnessing the remarkable transformation of countless lives.
In the early days, the school faced significant challenges, including frequent flooding from its location near a river. Despite these obstacles, Daniel and his dedicated team poured love and hope into the students, encouraging them to dream beyond their current circumstances. With God’s guidance and a quality education, many of these students have gone on to become police officers, firefighters, and professionals in their communities.
In 2015, we were blessed to purchase land near Redemption Village in Los Castillos where we built a beautiful new school and church. Looking forward, the entire New Missions team is eager to continue witnessing God’s work in transforming lives for His glory. ~Heather Williams Katz
