The vision of New Missions is to preach the Gospel and make disciples.
We work very hard in our schools to teach our students about God’s love and His plan for them. The teaching does not end there, though. It continues in our churches through powerful sermons, Bible studies, and children and youth Bible classes. We are happy to announce that we have collaborated with the National Evangelical University (UNEV) here in the DR to offer university-level Bible courses for our students, staff, and anyone who wants to learn more about God’s Word.
A special award ceremony was planned to present each participant with a certificate for completing the course. Everyone who took the class thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a lot about how to interpret the Bible.
The first course that UNEV offered was Biblical Interpretation. Nine of our staff and students participated in this course and were deeply impacted by what they learned. One of our staff members stated she learned that the Bible does not change to adapt to what we want, but that we have to learn to understand the Bible correctly in order to avoid misuse of Scripture. We thank the Lord for this wonderful partnership and look forward to seeing how God will use their courses to advance the Gospel further and strengthen disciples! ~Heather Williams Katz
