Reflecting on Impact
// Tim DeTellis
Praise the Lord! There are thousands of lives impacted through our mission every year.
From each student who sits down to pray before a hot lunch at school to a pastor who prays with someone to make Jesus Lord of their life, we are witnessing the life-changing power of God in action.
When unrest took place in Haiti due to gangs this year, our churches united by hosting prayer and fasting services. New believers walked into the baptism waters, and God’s presence prevailed as our churches were overflowing. Weekly church attendance surpassed 6,000 people across our 30 Haitian churches. When I would reach out to our pastors and send an encouraging note, their reply was often short and powerful: “Our God is greater!”
New leaders were mentored in the Dominican Republic through our Leaders for Christ program where 45 students are now representing a new generation of Christian leaders on the rise. When it comes to measuring success, someone could ask the question, “What matters most?” For me it is faithfulness to God’s call and discipling followers of Jesus. We are thankful to all who are a part of this mission: our local teachers, pastors, cooks, nurses, doctors, missionaries, and visiting teams. Plus, we honor each donor who makes New Missions better...to the glory of God. ~Tim DeTellis
