A Light in the Community
// Heather Williams Katz
This year, Colegio Nueva Vida (New Life School) is celebrating its 22nd anniversary.
George and Jeanne DeTellis founded the school in Sosua to be a light in a very dark community. Twenty-two years later, New Life School is a light that is shining brighter than ever. As the largest Christian school in the area, it has touched many lives in the surrounding community.
From the teachers to the students, New Life School has impacted the lives of many and has helped them in their walk with Christ. Our teachers and staff are spiritually fed so that their relationship with Christ will grow and flourish. Their love for Christ then overflows to our students. As one of our students, Christian Smil Cruz, states, “The school has been an essential part of my formation as a person and as a Christian. I have been able to study in an environment based on love and respect and surround myself with classmates who share my values and my faith in Christ.” Please pray for our students and teachers as they follow God and serve as missionaries in a community that desperately needs Christ. ~Heather Williams Katz
