Graduates Ministering
// Rachel DeTellis
A special invitation was given to New Missions high school graduates to attend the year-end prayer and worship event. About 50 graduates attended—working alongside the students in planning and serving.
The school chapel was full, and two graduates and one student led worship. The members of the high school prayer group, Guerrier Shalom, served the meal and everyone enjoyed their time together. The speaker was Jefferson Deceus, a 2016 graduate who is studying both engineering and theology. He desires to grow in knowledge and ability, as he is an assistant pastor at his church where he preaches and teaches.
The theme for the service was The Mystery of Meeting Jesus. “For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord.” (Proverbs 8:35) For this reason, the students and graduates continue to faithfully proclaim the hope of the Gospel. The Holy Spirit was at work and six students prayed to receive Christ as their Savior. They will be mentored by an adult leader of the prayer group who will also help get them established in a church. ~Rachel DeTellis
