What do you need to plant a church? You need people called by God.

“I learned John 3:16 as a child at New Missions,” Pastor Alix told me as we enjoyed lunch together. Now a church planter in Mount Dora, Florida, Alix Hilaire shared how he once sat under a mango tree as a young teenager in Haiti and told God, “I will serve you the rest of my life.” He reminded me of a school policy during our founding years: “Your dad made it mandatory to attend Sunday School as your ticket to go to school on Monday and I never missed.”

All Nations Church in Mount Dora, Florida, is pastored by Alix Hilaire, a former student of New Missions. The power of the Gospel changes lives forever, and church planting is the fruit of our mission.

At the age of 17, while attending our high school, Pastor Sheguer Marc felt a calling to become a pastor.

Because we made it a priority since 1983 to preach the Gospel, we are now seeing more churches being planted. The calling to pastor is falling upon others who have grown up in our existing churches and now they are stepping out to be pastors. Where are these additional churches? From Paris, France, to Mount Dora, Florida, and to remote areas of Haiti.

Pastor Johnny Fontaine was baptized at New Missions in September 1997 and now serves as a pastor in Paris, France.

Pastor Johnny Fontaine is a pastor at a church in Paris, France. He served as a Sunday school teacher at our very first church in Bord-Mer, Haiti. We rejoice in God’s calling upon these pastors’ lives, and pray for more Christian leaders to rise up through our mission to reach around the world. ~Tim DeTellis
