When I moved to work with New Missions in the Dominican Republic eight years ago, I had no idea how God would change my life.

I met my husband here in the DR in one of our churches. He accepted Christ as a teenager and was the first one in his family to be saved. As a teen, he remembers riding on one of the mission trucks to go to our church in Playa Chiquita. He was part of the youth group and his relationship with Christ grew. He struggled and questioned God when his mom died from cancer, but praise the Lord his faith in God was strong enough to get him through the trial.

Our Leaders for Christ students are serving others and being a godly example for their fellow students.

I believe in the work New Missions is doing—teaching children and youth to follow God is such an important ministry. I am thankful for the vibrant children’s Bible programs in each of our churches, as well as youth groups that are growing. Our Christian student leadership group in our high school is actively working to raise Christian leaders. I look forward to the future and seeing how God will use these children and teens to further His kingdom. ~Heather Williams Katz
