In September, two of our graduates finished four years of nursing school, thanks to their hard work and their sponsors’ generosity.

It was a dream come true for Edeline Jean Baptiste and Wideline Andre to be afforded the opportunity to have full scholarships to their nursing programs. They are so grateful to the Lord and to their sponsors. New Missions also thanks their sponsors and each of you who participate in God’s work through sponsorship!

Edeline at her graduation. Because of high gas prices, she is thankful her nursing program was close by in Leogane.

Francine Myre (a nurse herself) from Quebec, Canada, chose to sponsor Edeline in 2000. Edeline was a tiny four-year-old in our Leogane school. She is still small but has a big heart. She states, “I want to serve using my profession with all my heart.” Diane Zizelman and her daughter Stephanie, from Stephenson, Michigan, visited Haiti on mission trips multiple times and felt especially connected to Wideline. They sponsored her in 2001 and have grown to love her and her family. Wideline knew Stephanie completed a nursing program and that became her passion, too. They feel privileged to have had this opportunity to be a part of Wideline’s life and education. ~Rachel DeTellis
