Here in the Dominican Republic, we have close to 80 people who work with the mission. I am consistently impressed by their love and dedication to the mission and the work they are doing.

They arrive early at their jobs, ready to serve. They stay late when necessary and are more than happy to help with other mission activities that are not part of their jobs.

School assistant director Xiomara Peralta working with a student; she has worked with the mission for seventeen years.

Many of our students come from unstable homes, and our schools offer a safe haven and place of stability. I remember one student a few years ago who missed class on his birthday. I assumed he had stayed out of school because his family was doing something special. When he came back to school the next day, I asked him what he had done for his birthday. Huge tears began to fall down his face as he told me that no one had even remembered that it was his birthday. The love and care that our students receive from their teachers and our staff is often much more than they receive at home. Please continue to pray for each of our employees as they share God’s love daily with those they serve. ~Heather Williams Katz
