In Haiti, we have recently started some wall projects. Typically, these projects are not talked about much because they don’t sound exciting.

Two walls at the Bire school/clinic campus (behind the high school soccer field) and the rear side of the main Bord-Mer property have been built.

Having the clinic property enclosed will provide a safer workplace and protection for future needs...such as solar panels.

It’s become clear that we need to do more of this for the safety of the children at school and to solidify our ownership, as encroachment and land theft is a regular threat. Many of our churches are open concept with no enclosure walls, where goats and chickens like to visit and make for constant cleaning.

Our list of locations that need boundary walls are: the completion of the Bire school/clinic, the Bord-Mer (main campus), and our high school property. Other locations where work has not yet begun are Signeau, TiRiviere, Masson, Concrab, and Lassale. The school programs will be enhanced with this protection. The enclosure will help facilitate a cleaner yard and discourage excessive loitering and vandalism. Building these walls is a huge undertaking. Please pray with us as we endeavor to move forward with these projects. ~Rachel DeTellis
