Singing for Jesus
// Rachel DeTellis
Each week our schools hold a chapel service. It’s an important time of instruction and worship.
The children receive teaching on their level and are given the opportunity to participate. If a student would like to sing, they send a paper up to the front requesting the opportunity. What a joy to see these young ones stepping out and singing for Jesus.
In middle school and high school the students are also given the privilege to speak. Pastor Yaguel from our Bord-Mer school/church says the first time he ever preached was at a school chapel service as a student. Pastor Richard from Masson says he has leaders in his church who started developing their gifts while in school.
When our pastors chose John 3:16 as the new school verse for this year, I sensed that this needed to be a year of more intense evangelism in our schools; a year of winning more kids to the Lord and of chapel services that change lives by the power of the Holy Spirit. Won’t you pray with us that there will be even more children singing for Jesus? ~Rachel DeTellis
