It’s been quite a year for Haiti. There has been much unrest in the country. And now, as with the rest of the world, Covid-19 has left its mark.

But through it all, the Haitians at New Missions have remained faithful—knowing God is at work. Psalm 37:7 reads, “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him.”

New Missions pastors preach the Gospel. As a result, many have been baptized because of the life-saving message of Jesus.

New Missions students begin to learn about Jesus at a young age. Prayer and devotions are an important part of school.

Women often hold Bible studies and prayer meetings in the villages, and many have come to know Christ.

When things seem to go wrong, remember God knows our circumstances better than we do. It’s important to pray and trust Him. Please pray for:

• Political stability this year and protection from Covid-19

• A fresh vision and passion for our pastors and school directors—that their lives would truly reflect integrity and God’s goodness

• More students and their families to be touched by the Gospel message and receive Christ as Savior and Lord

• Our teachers’ ability to instruct effectively. They will have to get the students back on track after Covid-19, as there are no “virtual schools” in Haiti. Pray for their discernment to determine the most important information to focus on as they interact with their students each day. Pray they can instill a love of learning in the students, and by their example the students would want to become followers of Jesus. ~Rachel DeTellis
