Masson Dining Hall
// Rachel DeTellis
As a mom, I want the best for my children. Moms in Haiti are no different.
Mothers may be poor and more limited in their choices, but they want to know if a school has a good reputation and if the child will receive a good education. We asked some mothers of our Masson students for reactions on the new dining hall that is currently under construction. They expressed gratitude for the beautiful work already done and for the investment being made.
The concrete work for the canteen has been completed. But the roof, seating, and the kitchen need to be finished. The cooks look forward to having a roof over their heads and cooking on propane instead of the smoky wood fires. At present, the 500+ students at Masson don’t have a designated place to eat lunch. This spacious canteen will greatly facilitate the classrooms staying cleaner and a more orderly lunch meal.
However, not only will the dining hall be a huge blessing to the school, but the church will also benefit. Pastor Richard Gay says it may also be used for special events such as conferences and weddings. Moms, students, teachers, cooks, our pastor, and church members are thrilled with this new addition to the Masson campus. Thank you to all sponsors and donors who have made this possible.~Rachel DeTellis
