Kate and Gloria began a relationship by writing and sending photographs back and forth when they were only five years old. Fast-forward thirteen years, and here they are.

Now, both 18, and all they have known is they were two girls separated by an ocean—living in two different countries.

Kate learned the power of generosity by giving the gift of education and the Gospel to change a heart. Without hope in God, we are lost. Both these girls grew spiritually over the years, eventually making personal decisions for Jesus to be Lord of their lives. Besides education, Gloria also discovered consistent nurturing at school through food and medical care.

Do you see the potential in each child? God does and uses us to help empower children to rise up to become new leaders.

Gloria wants to continue her studies to become a nurse. Kate wants to study to become a mental health counselor. When I see two lives grow through child sponsorship, I can’t help but think God orchestrated these two girls to meet—because together, He was at work in their lives for His purposes.

Gloria began school at New Missions at the age of four; as a new, young, Christian leader, she is planning to study nursing in Haiti.

When I see child sponsorship change my own child’s life, then I fall to my knees and weep in praise to God for His power to do something that hits home for me in a personal way.~Tim DeTellis
