Back to School
// Jeanne DeTellis Loudon
The “back to school” season usually begins by preparing children with clothes and supplies to head back to school.
Most children I know are not anxious about their parents being able to provide a new pair of shoes. In Haiti, when daily survival is present, buying a pair of shoes can bring extra stress into the household. When the time comes for our mission schools to open, our families in Haiti are looking forward to the security of food—knowing their children will eat healthy and consistently—easing this economic burden on the family to sustain themselves.
There is rejoicing in God’s goodness and provision that there is food, ample and clean drinking water, and a focus can be aimed at preparing for the future with academic activities. As the body is cared for and the mind is healthy, these precious children have their ears open and their hearts warmed to receive the good news of a loving Savior, Jesus Christ.
Back to school is an exciting time to see God at work accelerating the growth and spiritual lives of our students. Our happy children with full tummies can dream big dreams. Your love and prayers, along with financial help, create endless miracles. Thank you. ~Jeanne DeTellis Loudon
