Mission teams coming to the Dominican Republic this summer have the opportunity to share God’s love with many children.

These teams are hosting Vacation Bible School for three or four days in each of our churches. Although there are some summer camps and activities in the area, they are too expensive for the majority of families. Also, most churches here do not hold any special events for children during the summer. So, the VBS that our teams host are much anticipated by the children. Wherever I go, there are excited kids running up to me asking questions about VBS.

The children love lifting their voices and worshipping God with praise and worship songs during VBS.

Of course, our teams do many other activities while they are here including: baseball camp, basketball tournaments, and small work projects. However, I believe the most important of all these things is the opportunity to teach children about God’s love and salvation through Bible stories, games and crafts. As your church hosts VBS this summer, I ask you to remember and pray for the teams in the DR doing the same, and especially pray that God will work through them to touch the hearts of the children who are coming to VBS. ~Heather Williams Katz
