The director of our high school, Anislus Jean Gasnel, invited us to meet with the graduating class of 2019.

Students can attend school at New Missions for up to 16 years: two years of preschool, one year of kindergarten, six years of elementary, and seven years of high school. This year, we have 96 students graduating. Their life stories combined could make an amazing, inspirational book that would reveal their determination, sacrifice, and endurance…with a few miracles along the way.

One student who shared her story with us is Djenie Fils-Aime (sponsored by Gregory and Teresa Henady). Djenie began her education with New Missions in preschool. Her heart is grateful as she remembers her journey to faith in Jesus, when she heard the Good News of His saving love for her during a school chapel service. Djenie was baptized when she was 12 years old. Not only has she grown physically and academically, but she has also grown spiritually.

Djenie is a worship leader in her church and is now competing at concerts with other singers. She has a dream to become a nurse. Her words of thanks continue as she says, “I am the only one, and the first one in my family to finish high school. I love New Missions.” ~Jeanne DeTellis Loudon
