Every school day in the Dominican Republic, over 100 preschool students have class at our churches in Playa Chiquita and Playa Laguna.
Each day begins with a devotional, prayer, and Bible songs. The children love singing the songs and participating in the prayers and Bible stories. Many of these students will go to public school when they finish our preschool, so this is an important opportunity for us to share God’s love and the Gospel with each of them.
Our preschool students love going to school to learn how to read and write and learn more about God. Teacher Belkis Guzman Martinez works faithfully to teach the students the basics they need to know to succeed in school.
Many of our teachers have noted a difference in the preschool children after they have spent time with them and shared God’s love with them. One of our teachers remembers a student of hers who started the year with very bad behavior. When she realized it was because the child was lacking in love and attention at home, she began showering him with love, and his behavior changed dramatically. Many of the parents tell us that their children come home and tell them they need to pray at all times during the day.
