Now, I'm a Pastor
// Tim DeTellis
Children were lined up to receive their shoebox gifts. On this special day, the person passing out these gifts was their pastor and school director, Mario Bijou.
When he looked into their eyes, he could see himself. He, too, was once a student at New Missions.
At the age of six, while attending school at New Missions, Mario Bijou made Jesus Lord of his life. In a country where Voodoo is the prominent religion, he was stepping up as part of a new generation on the rise. God began to do a work in his heart and life. He graduated from our high school and Bible college.
Today, Mario Bijou serves as the pastor of the New Missions church in Signeau, Haiti, and is the school director at the New Missions Christian Academy in Signeau.
Mario Bijou told me, “My prayer for the children of New Missions is for them to accept Jesus in their life, and I pray this every time I pray. I would also like to see them reach high. This is my dream. I say this with all my heart.”
