We started a Christian leadership group in our high school last year with nine students. This school year, we have more than doubled the number of students who started the program—20 students in total!

One of our key verses for the group is 1 Timothy 4:12: “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” We are working with the students weekly, teaching them Biblical principles of leadership and giving them opportunities to put those principles into practice.

The senior high leadership students have already shown good leadership skills and are positive examples for their fellow classmates.

This school year, we have had a chance to get even more involved in our high school. The students recently prepared and led the junior high and high school chapels. In 2019, we plan to lead more chapel services and participate in community events.Additionally, we have paired each of our leadership students with a child from our school in Redemption Village who needs some additional help in their classes. They will be mentoring and tutoring them during the school year. Please pray for these students as they grow in their faith and share God’s love with others. ~Heather Williams Katz
