This month we celebrate thirty-four years of ministry in Haiti.

Many hands labor to make this ministry possible—including staff in the United States, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic. But we cannot do it alone. We depend upon the prayers and support from those of you who partner with us. Our ministry focuses on the poor children of Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Many of these children are helpless, and often do not have an advocate.

We are keeping the pioneering spirit alive at New Missions as we continue to seek new sites for churches and schools.

For many years we have been seeking the Lord’s guidance as to when and where we should expand our mission. We now believe it is His will and His perfect timing to move forward by planting three churches and schools on the Haitian island of La Gonâve in 2017. Located fifteen miles (a one-hour motorboat ride) off of our Haitian coast, there are approximately 130,000 people living on the island. We have visited La Gonâve in the past and even held church services there. Currently, we have several children from La Gonâve in our schools on the mainland, as it is not possible for them to receive an education on the island.

Tamar Calixthe is from the island of La Gonâve and attends school at New Missions in Bord-Mer, as there is no school for her to attend on the island.

Together, we are changing the lives of children because each child matters to God.

Please keep us in your prayers as we seek to serve and follow Him. ~Charlie DeTellis
