I am sure you can visualize a scene of children in a poor country standing in line with their bowls just waiting to receive their portion of food.

I remember when my daughter-in-law, Sheryl, gave an offering to buy school lunch bowls for Haiti. I wanted our home office to find strong, stainless steel bowls, and they did!

Together, we are helping our students grow healthy and strong as they enjoy a full bowl at lunch each day.

The only hunger I feel is in a restaurant looking at my bowl of soup wishing it was full to the brim. But when a child who really knows hunger receives a full bowl of food, it brings a grin and God is pleased as well. When the hunger is satisfied, the heart and mind are open to learn of God and succeed academically.

Monthly, our schools in Haiti require 1,000 sacks of rice to provide lunch for our students.

In the Bible, there is a story of a crowd of hungry people. Out of compassion, Jesus miraculously multiplied the food that His disciples had with them, which was seven loaves of bread and a few fish, to feed 4,000 men, plus many women and children. The miracle of feeding the hungry goes on over and over. Your heart and love to give is feeding our children. You are filling the school lunch bowls to the brim.

Lunch is made possible thanks to our child sponsors and donors to the "Life of a Child" fund for unsponsored students.

Just like the song, “Fill My Cup, Lord,” I sing with the Haitian children, “Fill my bowl, Lord.” Thank you for filling their bowls. ~Jeanne DeTellis Loudon
