Doing and Trusting
// Charlie DeTellis
We are praising the Lord for the recent purchase and safe delivery of food to our warehouse in Haiti.
Through a port in the south, 2,000 sacks of rice were shipped in by boat. Our mission received five truckloads of food including the rice, and also beans and cooking oil. All of our schools received a food delivery enough to last a month, and we have another month’s worth of food that will go out to our schools soon. Logistics can be very challenging in Haiti.
We do not glory in the work of our own hands and efforts, because we recognize the providence of God’s provision and protection over our mission in Haiti. The world has a negative viewpoint of Haiti due to the destruction and chaos in Port-au-Prince by gang activity. This is the work of the enemy. But, the majority of the rural towns in Haiti are functioning normally. It’s sad that Haiti does not have good leadership. Good leadership ensures security and promotes prosperity in the country. Haiti has been declining for at least the last decade; Haiti is getting poorer.
We must always put our hope in God. We must rely upon the providence of God. We must also act with the strength and gifts God has given to us. Don’t give up doing good. ~Charlie DeTellis
