Haiti Shoebox Packing Ideas
// Molly Knost
Packing a shoebox is a wonderful way to bless someone in need. The shoeboxes collected during our Christmas Shoebox Drive touch the lives of both children and adults in Haiti.
It is always our goal to give every child in our schools a shoebox. We also use the shoeboxes to bless others who are involved in our ministry in Haiti. You can pack a shoebox for a teacher, pastor, or nurse who is serving in a New Missions school or church. Our health clinic loves to receive infant shoeboxes filled with items for babies and toddlers that they can give to mothers of young children.
When you pick out gifts for your shoebox, it is always wonderful if you can include a combination of practical and fun items. For our students, try to choose a few toiletry items, some school supplies, and some gifts that are simply for enjoyment. Water bottles, soccer balls, and baby dolls are always favorites of our students. New t-shirts, underwear, and socks are another great option to include, as well. Games, such as playing cards, jacks, and dominoes are also very popular.
You can download and print out packing lists for all of the different categories of shoeboxes at shoeboxdrive.com. I know the gifts you choose will be cherished by whoever receives them. ~Molly Knost
