Here Come Shoeboxes
// Molly Knost
The doorbell often rings as deliveries of small and large packages are dropped off at our office in Orlando.
Carts of shoeboxes line the walls, and extra supplies are organized to be used during processing the boxes. Volunteers come and go—helping us with the extra work. It is time for our Christmas Shoebox Drive!
A large tractor-trailer will be carefully packed ensuring every nook and cranny is filled with supplies and gifts for Haiti. Our students in Haiti expectantly look forward to every one of these deliveries! The first shipment of shoeboxes will be sent out this month. Throughout the summer several church partners began collecting shoebox supplies and even packed shoeboxes. During VBS, kids chose items to go in shoeboxes they packed for children in Haiti. We love seeing people of all ages packing shoeboxes.
There is still plenty of time for you, your church, school or office to collect shoeboxes. Our collection runs until December 31. You can pack a box for a student, a pastor, nurse or teacher in Haiti. This year, we have also added a new category of shoeboxes for newborn babies through the age of two.
