Here at New Missions, we are seeing how sponsorship changes the lives of children as we give them the gift of education—enabling them to escape poverty both physically and spiritually.
You may know Haiti as the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere—where Voodoo is still very prevalent and practiced today. Recently, I was told of a Haitian taking public transportation to the capital city of Port-au-Prince. He sat next to a woman who was transporting child body parts for a Voodoo sacrifice. He jumped off and tried getting the police to help. Sadly, the police said they could do nothing. This is horrific and is happening in a country just 700 miles off the Florida coast!
Education leads the way for employment, as children rise up to become new leaders for Haiti.
As we welcome young children into our schools, we intercept them from the darkness that still permeates their country and replace it with the light of truth: Jesus. We must push forward with greater passion and urgency—sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to change lives forever.
At the center of all we do is the Gospel. Our students have Bible class daily at their schools.
