Pastor Rigal Alcidas was born in a village considered to be one of the poorest on the Leogane Plain.

There was no well, no school, and no church in his village until New Missions arrived and made Lassale the second location where we would plant a church, school, and drill a well. I remember being there when they began drilling the well. To God be the glory, we found an artesian well that still flows today under its own pressure without a pump.

New believers in Lassale followed in water baptism as a public profession of their faith in Jesus.

Danilla Meide, Stekenson Jean Louis, Ismaelle Eliane, and Kerie Delmas attend our church in Lassale.

Pastor Rigal attended our Lassale school, and graduated from our high school and Bible college. Today, he leads the entire campus and recently witnessed the profession of faith by four young adults: Danilla Meide, Stekenson Jean Louis, Ismaelle Eliane, and Kerie Delmas who attend church at New Missions in Lassale. He then had the honor of baptizing these new believers at the ocean on Friday, September 27, 2024.

In church and together with friends, people are finding a community of faith for discipleship and support.

One generation is reaching and discipling the next generation. The power of this process is breaking the cycle of spiritual poverty. Plus, the beautiful impact of this is seeing the change taking place where local Haitians are now sharing the Gospel message in their own villages. The organic growth of the local church is producing fruit in Haiti. Thankfully, these young adults can sing, “I have decided to follow Jesus; no turning back, no turning back.” ~Tim DeTellis
