Changing Women's Lives
// Heather Williams Katz
When God called Delia Espinosa nine years ago to start a sewing class for mothers of our students, little did she know how God would use her to impact the lives of so many women in Sosua.
Each class begins with a Bible study and many of the women who take the class have gotten saved. In addition, many women have been empowered to finish high school and start using what they have learned to support themselves and their families.
One such woman is Fior Daliza Javier Brito, who took Delia’s class seven years ago. She and her husband had been struggling financially and her husband had not been able to find a job. Through what she learned in the class, Fior Daliza was able to start doing clothing alterations. Then she started sewing for businesses and her husband began helping her reupholster furniture. Through this work, her husband found a job and the family has been able to buy a better place to live. Fior Daliza says that because of this class, her faith in God has grown and she praises the Lord for His provision for her and her family. ~Heather Williams Katz
