On your mark…get set…GO! We are collecting new pairs of sneakers for our students through June 30, 2016. There’s plenty of time for you, your school, or church to host a sneaker collection.
What’s it like when students receive their sneakers? I asked youth pastor, Keith Yarborough, from First Baptist Church Winter Garden, and his response was, “As the New Missions students came close to where we had the sneakers spread out, the excitement level began to go off the charts! They were pointing and talking while patiently waiting their turn. Upon receiving the gift of a new pair of sneakers, not only was there joy, but gratitude and pride could be seen in the way they walked away. It was so much fun for our team of high school students to be a part of this mission.” Keith was in Haiti with a team of students from their church and school, Foundation Academy, and gave sneakers away to students from Bire, Haiti.
None of us like to see our Haitian children barefooted.
Canvas sneakers in nice, bright colors are a favorite type of sneaker for students.
