A Christian Couple
// Rachel DeTellis
Valentine’s Day is recognized in Haiti. Even small supermarkets sell heart shaped boxes of chocolates which are purchased by those with disposable income.
There are now many Christian couples on the Leogane Plain who found their love at our high school. One such couple is Sheguer Marc and Nagela Rosiclair, who met in tenth grade. Nagela attended the Bire church and elementary school, while Sheguer went to the Brache Milot church and school. Their relationship grew, so Nagela started going to Sheguer’s church. She sensed wisdom and leadership in him and Sheguer appreciated her sense of responsibility and how well she led worship. They were married in December 2017.
Today, they are establishing a new church in the village of Mariani where currently about 45 people attend. Sheguer gained experience preaching and directing the youth at the church he grew up in, as well as leading the high school prayer group. He sensed God calling him to minister full-time and, with the help of a sponsor, completed the two-year program at our Bible college. We believe God will use our graduates for His purposes and glory! ~Rachel DeTellis
