It’s the most wonderful (and my absolute favorite) time of the year! Christmas is coming…which means “Shoebox Season” has arrived!

Here at New Missions, our staff has already been busy preparing to host volunteer groups who will help assemble our prepacked shoebox gifts! Deliveries of supplies needing to be unboxed and sorted arrive almost daily. There is a sense of excitement and anticipation each day because we look forward to our annual shoebox gift project. This important endeavor may provide the only gift many of our students will receive this Christmas season.

We are thrilled to include two faith-building books: The Jesus Story Book Bible, and 25 Favorite Stories from the Bible—both in Haitian Creole. Along with the books and everyday essentials, we love to include sunglasses, flip-flops, and t-shirts. These are carefully selected for each age and gender. Toys, games, and soccer balls are sure to bring a smile to each face. I don’t know about you, but I find that giving brings such deep joy! Acts 20:35 reminds us that Jesus Himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive…”

Volunteers fill our office helping us to put together these gifts that will put a smile on a child’s face this Christmas.

Prepacked shoeboxes are filled with essential items such as water bottles, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and age appropriate gifts.

If you would like to order a prepacked shoebox and bless your sponsored child (or a child without a sponsor) simply visit newmissions.org/gift. Won’t you join us in sharing some joy this Christmas? ~Emily Pearson
