Families At Church
// Tim DeTellis
Graduates of New Missions are getting married and raising their families to walk in faith together.
This is a change in history for the country of Haiti, where men would typically have children from multiple women and not marry. The story of Gregory Doirin and Sonya (who met at church) is one of faith, hope, and love. Gregory began his education at New Missions when he was five years old. He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior in March 2003 at church, graduated from our high school in 2006, and started working for New Missions in 2008.

Gregory and Sonya married in 2016 and attend our New Missions church in downtown Leogane, Haiti. They have two children, Grednyael Christie and Chris Bryan. “My wife Sonya and I love our church; having our children at church with us is a blessing.” As a graduate of New Missions, Gregory works as a photographer and a translator—helping with letter writing between students and their sponsors. He gets to see up close how important each child is to God. At our Leogane church, he serves as the church secretary assisting Pastor Guillaume.
Thank you for partnering with New Missions as together, we are seeing lives changed forever. The life change for Gregory was made possible because of his sponsor Sharon Hennen. ~Tim DeTellis
