The saying, “Your mission field starts where your two feet are” is so true.

We are all called to this ministry of reaching others with the hope and love of Jesus. I am blessed to spend a significant amount of time in Haiti. Just as God has prepared you for your unique place, I believe God also prepared me. My parents were missionaries in India. I grew up observing them minister—serving countless cups of hot tea, providing clothing and medications, offering counsel, teaching, preaching, and visiting many villages. They always did what they could—led by God.

In Haiti, I enjoy working with our clinic and office staff to facilitate their work. Most days, there are folks with medical, educational, or food needs who want to meet with me. It is an honor to share the Gospel, encourage, and pray for them. Recently, a graduate came to me asking about help for nursing school. I took her information, but was doubtful about finding a sponsor. Within weeks a sponsor was found for her and she re-entered school. God multiplies our work, so do what you can. ~Rachel DeTellis
