School Days
// Christine Batchelder
Students love attending our New Missions schools in the Dominican Republic. They love learning and making new friends.
The path to education opens the door to a host of new opportunities for them. They often talk of their sponsors, and the children love receiving letters. The students study similar subjects as those in the United States. Their subjects include: math, science, social studies, Spanish, English, French, art, and physical education.
While the teachers know education is important, they also realize how vital it is that these children hear the Gospel. It is only through the life-saving message of Jesus that these students will be radically transformed. It will change their future. God’s Word, above all, is the source of truth. It brings hope and light to a world filled with darkness.
As students begin a new school year, don’t forget you can encourage your sponsor child by writing them a letter. Would you also take some time to pray for them? “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6 ~Christine Batchelder
