Her father is the local Voodoo priest and today, Silla Fatal is the worship leader at her village Christian church. When I talked with her father, he told me, “New Missions is the best school for my children and I still have some of my children in your high school.”

Why is it important to know a child of the Voodoo priest attended our school, learned about Jesus, and today is the worship leader at her church? This matters because she is also a school teacher at the very New Missions school she attended as a child.

Our teachers are role models of hope and changed lives, as they too have grown up through the same schools where they now teach.

Now, as a graduate, Silla Fatal is a role model of hope. The students in her classroom not only see a teacher standing in front of them, they see a reflection of who they can become. Against all odds, she found a new path through Jesus Christ.

I need your help. This year, we are opening our schools to more children whose story is not yet written. Their lives have two paths in front of them—one of despair and the other of hope.  If you want to fuel a future of hope, join the I Am Hope Club. Together, we can help more children start their story of a better life at New Missions.
